Get Creative!

Join us for classes and workshops featuring a wide variety of mediums in different Park settings.
New classes will be added throughout the year, so check back frequently!


Environmental Sketching

Weekly on Saturdays | 4pm - 6:30pm 
Learn the fundamentals of sketching as you interpret the natural world on paper! Participants will learn about depth, shadow and curvature, among other things. Classes will take place in the Yurt, next to the Woodland Discovery Playground.
Price per class: $25 Park Members | $30 Nonmembers

Concoct

Make a drink and a masterpiece at the Park's newest program series for ages 21+!   Learn the proper ingredients, secrets to perfection and necessary barware for making the perfect cocktail. For additional fun, make a different art project at each themed event. Cocktails and projects with change monthly, and all materials will be provided.

Fundamentals of Watercolor

Experiment with and learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting. Classes will cover basic sketching, color mixing,brush handling, and application techniques. Students will work through exercises, build on what they learn, and create several pieces of art to take home.

Introduction to art history

Students will survey a selection of main periods and artists from art history.  Learning about all types of art from baroque to impression art, students will discuss techniques, styles and content and put what is learned into practice as they create their own works of art.

introduction to printmaking

Using a variety of materials from Styrofoam and string to cork and carving tools, students will learn different techniques and processes for making prints on paper.

fashion design

Design and sketch an original article of clothing and create a 2-D mixed media visual representation of the design using a variety of materials.
