# 4 Park Moment of 2007

Park Team Gets Bigger, Acquires Chic Accent

A lot is changing around here, and you've probably seen some new faces around the Visitor Center and out in the Park. I considered making a metaphor here about the changing seasons and something about wind or tides, maybe. Anyway, I decided to forego that comparison to make, in my opinion, a better one at the end of the post.

My #4 Park moment of 2007 has to do with the addition of some great new team members at Shelby Farms. You can check out our full staff here and our board of directors list here to see what we're all into and why we got involved at Shelby Farms Park.

In 2007, we acquired Katasha Madyun (executive assistant), Charlie Bright (director of finance), Larry Papasan (interim executive director), Chris Fava (park ranger) and Chris Coe (park ranger). We also added Kate Philips-owner and proprietor of the lovely British accent you now hear when you call the Visitor Center. Kate's our new receptionist and is in charge of sales and rentals of park facilities, and though many people think she's Australian, she's actually English.

There are still a few of us stragglers hanging around here, too. The growth of our team, being directly proportional to the growth of our goals, ranks as #4 on my list. And all the growth's going to lead us to big, fat success.

Tomorrow: The revolution will not have valet parking.
