Guest Blog: Is Sandee Lost in Space?

Star Power

There is a well known voice on WYPL, reading the CA live on Saturdays, and also heard on BookTalk. You could hear those same confident, soothing tones by calling the Park on Monday afternoon!

Bill Wilson is one of our remarkable Information Desk volunteers and he's more than just an articulate acquaintance. Bill has an inspiring past, working at the UT Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities where he taught, practiced and administered for 40 years. I don't pretend to understand the metabolic disorders, PKU screenings, and disability prevention processes Bill knows like the back of his hand. It is safe to say that these programs have improved the health of many Mid-Southerners over the last few decades.

Bill is also an amateur astronomer! Please folks, I said astronomer, not astrologer, so don't come to the Visitor's Center to get a reading ok? Nothing wrong with readings but Bill can't help you. He's the Treasurer of the Memphis Astronomical Society and as you may or may not know, 2009 is the International Year of Astronomy.

Bill has been volunteering at the Park for a year now, and we all know that whether it's celestial or terrestrial, Bill has a star quality about him. Thanks Bill for all you do!
