Why did you get involved with Shelby Farms Park? I got involved because I believe that Shelby Farms Park is the best kept secret in Memphis and, with a little nurturing, can become one of the premier parks in the country.

What's your favorite place in the Park? I love to walk along the Lucius Burch trails along the Wolf River. I enjoy riding around to observe all the great tapestry of park users. I used to run around Patriot Lake. My New Year resultuion is to train to rebuild my stamina and start running again.

Other than Shelby Farms Park, what's your favorite place in Memphis and why? Other than Shelby Farms Park I would say that my favorite place is downtown Memphis. I love the galleries of South Main, and the new urbanism feel of the South Bluffs, Mud Island and Uptown. Also, the variety of great restaurants downtown is outstanding.

Shelby Farms Park is a place where all people can come to enliven their physical and psychological well-being. It can become one of the great parks of the world. It can be a model of environmental sustainability and a source of community pride for all our citizens.
