Create a Sanctioned Event!
Deadline extended to March 31!
To help spread the message and mission of Earth Week at Shelby Farms Park, we are launching a new Sanctioned Events program to engage community partners like you to increase awareness of environmental issues by creating events throughout the community. We’re asking businesses/ organizations, neighborhood associations, churches, schools and other civic-minded groups to organize activities in their communities during this week to benefit, educate and/or highlight awareness for the environment in a positive way.
Join with Shelby Farms Park Conservancy in promoting awareness of and support for the “greening” of Memphis and Shelby County through hosting your own Sanctioned Event during Earth Week 2010 (April 16-25).
Here are just a few reasons why you should create and/or participate in an official Earth Week Sanctioned Event:
• IT’S FREE! There is no charge to participate and have your event become an official “Sanctioned Event” of Earth Week
• You probably already have something planned or are considering planning something to celebrate Earth Day or to benefit the environment anyway, so why not maximize your visibility and attract more attention to your event/ organization by partnering with the largest Earth Day event in the region?
• Shelby Farms Park Conservancy will provide your organization with pre-printed Earth Week logo materials, assist with press releases and other marketing/ promotional efforts, to help promote your event and increase awareness for your group, and include your event on our website
• Official Sanctioned Event partners will be invited to attend the Down to Earth Festival on Sunday, April 25 at Shelby Farms Park, and receive special recognition as an official Sanctioned Event partner during the event
